REIKI COURSES

Reiki is taught at three levels.

REIKI ONE

Reiki One is taught over one day with a follow-up session about a month later. This attunes you to Reiki at level one and allows you to treat yourself, friends and family. At this level you are not permitted to charge for treatments.

REIKI TWO

Reiki Two is taught over two days with a follow-up when case studies have been completed. This attunes you to a higher vibration and allows you to practice professionally.
At this level you are given three symbols to use in treatments and learn a distance healing technique.

REIKI THREE

This is the Reiki Master level and allows you to attune people to Reiki. The Reiki Master level is taught one to one. The construction of the course is somewhat fluid and flexible and tailored to the individual client.

After an attunement there is 21 day cleansing period as the Reiki passes through each chakra raising your vibration. After a course there is a follow-up meeting about a month later when you can discuss any issues or anything which has come up during the cleansing period.

Chakras

The Hindu word ‘chakra’ is usually translated as ‘spinning wheel’. There are said to be around 90 000 of these spinning vortices of energy found in the human body. In Reiki treatments we treat seven major chakras located at the crown, brow, throat, heart, solar plexus, just below the navel, and the base of the spine. The heart chakra can be seen as a bridge between the higher, spiritual chakras (crown, third eye and throat), and the lower, physical chakras (root, sacral and solar plexus). Chakras are also located at junctions in the body such as shoulders, knees and ankles and we also treat these areas.

Crown

Situated at the top of the head, this chakra can be visualised as a sphere of white or violet light. It is not associated with any element. It is through this chakra that we make our connection to the Reiki energy. With this chakra activated we feel ‘connected’ and ‘at one’. Spending time with nature may help to balance the crown chakra.

Third Eye

Situated in the centre of the forehead between the eyebrows, the colour of this chakra is indigo and its element is radium. This is associated with intuition and when cleared and activated will strengthen intuition. Intuition is of major importance in Reiki treatments. It is associated with the pineal gland. If this chakra is closed down, as in when we don’t trust our intuition or don’t want to see what is around us, then the result can be psychic blindness and even physical eye problems.

Throat

This chakra is associated with creativity, self expression and communication. To truly communicate we have to be able to receive information as well as send it out. Clearing it can assist in releasing emotional blockages. The colour of this chakra is blue and its element is ether or akasha.

Heart

The colour of this chakra is green, although pink is also associated with it; its element is air. It is positioned over the heart itself. The heart chakra can be seen as a bridge between the higher and the lower chakras. This chakra is primarily about acceptance and love, unconditional love, romantic love, divine love, love of friends, self love and love of family.

Solar Plexus

The colour of this chakra is yellow or golden and its element is fire. It is situated above the navel. This is our centre of power. Here we work on issues of personal power and control. If our power is sapped by a lack of control in our lives then this chakra will be affected and the result may be anger and fear. The solar plexus chakra is also associated with issues of self esteem and self image. Treating this chakra will treat issues of fear, anger and shame.

Sacral

This chakra is positioned just below the navel. It is coloured orange and its element is water. It is associated with the physical aspect of romance, intimacy, sharing and trust. It is also associated with prostate, ovarian and absorption of nutrition.

Root

This chakra is found at the base of the spine. It is coloured red and associated with the element of earth. It helps in giving us the connection and grounding to earth which we need when working with spiritual energies. It is also associated with accepting pleasure.
